Eon Musk's Hyperloop Pod Competition II
Eon Musk have always been known for his dedication to
implement revolutionary ideas which can change the way we live. This
time he wants the innovators all around the world to scratch their heads
with him in making Hyperloop transport a reality. His firm SpaceX built
Hyperloop system at its headquarters in Hawthorne, California. It's
approximately one mile in length with a six foot outer diameter.
The company currently provides these services to innovators and universities interested in high speed transport. In
January 2017, SpaceX offered its Hyperloop transportation services to
27 teams from across the country and world in the first Hyperloop Pod
Competition at the SpaceX track. The competition’s goal was to
accelerate the development of functional prototypes and encourage
innovation by challenging teams to design and build the best high-speed
pod. Teams put their pods through a litany of tests, which was made
possible through our Hyperloop system. This competition was the first of
its kind anywhere in the world.
Spacex's first Hyperloop Pod Competition brought in high quality submissions. Based on this event SpaceX has moved forward with Hyperloop Pod Competition II,
which will culminate in a second competition on August 25-27, 2017, at
SpaceX’s Hyperloop track. The competition will include new and returning
student teams, some of which have already built and tested their pods
during the first competition. Sole focus of Hyperloop Competition II is
on a single criterion: maximum speed with successful deceleration (i.e. without crashing).
